The Arabian — or Arab — is among the oldest pure horse breeds, with documented Bedouin breeding records going back over a millennium. Dished face, large dark eye, fine bone, high tail carriage. Arabian breeding strains are still tracked: Crabbet (the British/American line founded by Wilfrid and Lady Anne Blunt in the 1870s), Polish (the Janów Podlaski stud), Egyptian (preserving the original desert lines), Spanish, and Russian.
