Printed as it is
No restyling: the photograph you upload is the picture that is printed. Some photos already are the gift, such as the one on their lock screen, the first rosette, or the last good picture of a horse that has gone, and changing them would miss the point. When you upload, every size is graded against the photo, so you can see which sizes it will hold up at before you add one to the basket.
How each size is checked
A phone photo has a fixed number of pixels, and the bigger the print, the further they are stretched. The upload works this out for every size we sell and marks each one before you choose. It also shows the crop, because an A4 sheet, a square mug panel and a 70x100 cm poster are different shapes, and the edge of your photo moves with them, so it's worth checking.
| If your photo is | Expect |
|---|---|
| Straight off a modern phone, in daylight | Most sizes, up to large canvas |
| Sent through WhatsApp or saved from social media | Smaller sizes only, because it has been compressed |
| A screenshot | A4 or a mug at most |
| An old print you have scanned | Depends on the scan; scan at 600 dpi or more |
What it comes on
Every format, size and frame colour is in the table above, with its live price. Posters are 250gsm uncoated off-white archival paper; canvases are stretched on a 2 cm frame and arrive ready to hang. A photo on wood keeps a little of the grain in the pale areas, which suits outdoor and yard pictures; on metal, colours look bright and crisp. The mug and the 500ml water bottle are for the photo that should be used every day.
Which photo works
JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. Send the original file from your phone or camera, not a copy forwarded through a messaging app. Daylight is better than flash, and a photo with the horse filling the frame gives you more sizes to choose from. Tick that you own the photo or have permission to reproduce it. If you'd like it painted in a style instead, see the portrait.
