Showjumping as a vintage travel poster
Showjumping puts a bay horse and a rider in a navy jacket at the top of a big, round jump over a striped red, white and green fence. Everything is drawn in flat shapes and clean outlines, like a 1950s railway poster: a blue sky with a single white cloud, a row of trees in three greens, and a bold diagonal of coloured poles.
It is the brightest picture in the collection and the one children and teenagers pick. It suits a showjumper’s bedroom, a Pony Club clubhouse, a games room or a lorry living area, anywhere that wants energy on the wall. The strong colours hold up well as a poster and look crisp on metal, and the water bottle version tends to go straight into a kit bag.
Its pair is Dressage, drawn in the same graphic style. For a rider who competes, a name print with the horse’s name and show year makes a good second gift.
